“Iba ang experience. Mamahalin mo lalo ‘yong asawa mo, ‘yong journey niya mula day one ng pagbubuntis niya hanggang manganak siya, ibang journey,” he added.
Even if he’s busy with his show “Ang Probinsiyano” which stars Coco Martin, John still takes the “night shift” of taking care of his daughter.
“Mas masaya,” he said describing his life as a father. “Kapag may anak ka na feeling mo ganap na lalaki ka na. So ibang-iba ‘yong pakiramdam, ‘yong responsibility, ‘yong work ethics ko, dati ang hirap ko gisingin, ngayon isang iyak niya lang gising ako.”
As for their plans of having another baby, the Kapamilya actor excitedly announced, “kapag ready na gawa na kami ulit. After a year or less."
“Kasi gusto namin sunud-sunod na, para tatlong sunud-sunod okay na kami,” he explained. “Ako kasi ang tagal ko na rin hinintay ‘to, I’m 32 and Liv is 34. So it’s about time na sunud-sunurin na namin, kasi we don’t have the privilege to wait.”
John bagged the lead role in the “politically-motivated” film “Diyos-Diyosan,” where he portrays an iron-fisted politician.
He stars with Princess Punzalan, Cheska Diaz, Tirso Cruz III and Kiko Estrada. It is directed by Cesar Buendia and will be in cinemas on May 4.

Cayateno: Psychological incapacity most common ground for annulment

MANILA, Philippines - Senator and vice presidential bet Alan Peter Cayetano defended his running mate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and argued that “psychological incapacity” is the most common reason used by couples in filing a marriage annulment.
Speaking at a rally in Pandacan, Manila on Saturday, Cayetano said that what media did not say was that “psychological incapacity” is the reason cited by all couples filing for annulment in the Philippines.
“Lahat ng nagpapa-annul sa Pilipinas, ganon din ang nakalagay sa kanilang kaso, kasi po lahat ng nagpapa-annul iisa ang ginagamit, psychological incapacity,” he said.
Cayetano said if he had been an annulment lawyer, he would use psychological incapacity in all cases he would handle.
Cayetano added that the Supreme Court had also ruled that while one may be psychologically incapacitated to be a husband or wife to one particular man or woman, it does not mean one is psychologically incapacitated to be a spouse to another person.
“Kaya nga pwede kang mag-asawa muli (That is why one can marry again),” he said.

Also during the Pandacan rally, Duterte twitted his rival, Vice President Jejomar Binay for daring him to take a psychological test.
Binay earlier urged Duterte to have himself checked by a psychiatrist in Makati, where the test can be taken for free, because the stress of the campaign seems to be affecting him greatly.
“Binay said he wants the two of us to undergo a psychological test. I said that is dangerous for him and might backfire because when the psychiatrist tests our brains, it will come out that your hands are itchy. That is why God put you in Makati,” Duterte said.
The vice president had made the challenge after documents on the annulment of Duterte’s marriage with his first wife were made public.
Duterte stressed that “psychological incapacity” is the reason cited in all annulment proceedings in the Philippines.
“This merely means you cannot comply with your marital obligation to be a true husband," he said.

Princess Punzalan left showbiz for family

One of the popular Filipina villains is back as she stars in the ABS-CBN primetime series “The Story of Us.”
She’ll portray the role of Clodette, the mother of CJ (Bryan Santos), the third wheel in the relationship of Macoy and Tin.
“No’ng pinadala sa akin ang character sketch, na-excite ako kasi unang-una, na-miss ko talaga makatrabaho ang ABS-CBN,” she said about accepting the project, in an interview on Tuesday.
“Since naging very iconic ang character na Celina, I wanted to do something else na drama, may paka-kontra bida, pero ibang take naman. So ‘yon ang challenge for me,” she added.
Celina was the main villain of Claudine Barretto-starring drama series “Mula sa Puso,” where Punzalan's laugh became iconic.
Punzalan has been away for more than 15 years, but clarified that she didn’t leave the industry permanently.
However, her marriage made her decide that “it was a good step na iwan muna lahat ng ito at mag-concentrate sa buhay may asawa, na wala pa masyadong nakikialam sa buhay ko.”
“I really want to make my family work, my marriage work. So kailangan maging priority ‘yon para sa akin,” she noted.
She now has a two-year-old daughter who is with her in the Philippines while she’s shooting for the soap opera.
Asked if she’s willing to do another project after “The Story of Us,” Punzalan said it’ll depend on what she and her husband will decide on.

Liza Soberano: Guy best friend doesn’t mean he's friend-zoned

MANILA, Philippines – Liza Soberano doesn’t believe in the negative connotation of calling a guy your best friend.
In most of her posts, she has regarded Enrique Gil as her “best friend,” which irked some of her followers since the Kapamilya actor has been very vocal about his feelings for her.
“I can’t believe people still get mad for me saying he's my best friend? Is that a bad thing?” Liza asked in her Twitter post on Saturday.

She further explained that “calling someone your best friend doesn't necessarily mean you are friend-zoning them.”
“Things can develop, right?” she added.
In a previous interview, Enrique said that both of them have other priorities and that their relationship doesn’t need a label.  He added that what matter most is they’re happy.

75 trafficking victims rescued from boat off Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - A multi-agency task force against human trafficking rescued 75 people from a motor launch in a coastal village west of this city on Tuesday morning, police said.

The Sea-Based Anti-Trafficking Task Force (SBATTF), which is composed of police and military units, approached the M/L Yasda for inspection while it was anchored off Baradero de Recodo in Barangay Cawit.

The City Police Office reported that during the board and search operation, the anti-trafficking unit rescued at 75 people who were bound for Taganak Island before going to Sabah. Among those rescued were 17 minors.

According to investigators, the boat's captain claimed that they were already in Baluk-Baluk Island off Hadji Mutamad Municipality, an island town of Basilan, when they were forced to sail back to Zamboanga City because of mechanical trouble.

But police believe the boat tried to slip towards Taganak or Turtle Island but was forced to return as security in the areas has been heightened due to the recent abduction of Malaysian nationals off Sabah. The captive Malaysians are believed to have been brought to the Philippines by gunmen believed to be members f the Abu Sayyaf group.

The rescued victims were brought to the social welfare office for proper documentation and to determine their places of origin.

According to a VERA Files report in 2014, the Malaysian government regularly deports undocumented Filipino workers who go there because they cannot find work in their hometowns. Many work in exploitative conditions but are lured into crossing the porous border with Malaysia because they can potentially earn more than in the Philippines.

JC de Vera: ‘Stellar’ is not a sexy album

Thirty-year old dramatic actor turned recording artist JC de Vera explained “Stellar” is not a “sexy album.”
He insists it is an art piece done with love.
Note however, his debut album contains sexy photos of him.
“Siguro part ng package na nga lang kasi dahil ‘yun nga physically fit ako,” he stressed.
“Stellar” is composed of six songs and two bonus tracks. They are “Langit Na Rin,” “Nabihag featuring Jessy Mendiola,” “Galaxy of Love,” “One Night, One Kiss featuring Lovi Poe,” “Heaven Knows (This Angel Has Flown)” and “Pakiusap.”
JC describe it as a “balanced album.”
“We made sure that it will include songs na ballad, meron danceable, isang song na parang celebratory, may heartbreak song. Iba-iba para mag cater sa lahat para maka relate ang lahat,” he related.
As to the title “Stellar,” JC said, “The whole album is about a dream. It started with a dream of a guy falling in love with a girl tapos alam mo ‘yun pag sinabing stellar di ba constellation, stars, page dream ka at night you look up at the stars, you dream.”
The whole album according to him is a love story which begins with admiration and ends in despair or heartache.
And for those wanting to see him and love team Jessy Mendiola in another soap opera or movie after “You’re My Home,” they have to contend first with “Nabihag,” their duet in the album.
“Pairing up with Jessie was a surprise for me. We’re really comfortable with each other. And ngayon lang nagka-partner tulad ng kay Jessie that’s why sobrang thankful ako,” intimated JC.
He didn’t also have qualms having a love team at his age because he believes that it was a phase in his career.
“Actually wala akong naging problems and kung titignan ninyo ‘yung track record ko sa ABS-CBN hindi ako humindi sa trabaho and love team is part of my journey as an actor. Very grateful ako sa mga nangyayari and dumarating siya without me asking sobra sobra ang bknibigay sa
akin so who am I to complain,” intimated JC.

North Cotabato exec: Farmers could have opted for dialogue

KIDAPAWAN CITY — There was no need for peasant groups to have blocked major highways to air their grievances as they could have gone to the provincial capitol to seek relief interventions, the local government of North Cotabato said Saturday.
North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou TaliƱo-Mendoza, chairperson of the provincial peace and order council, said she and the mayors of the towns from where the farmers had come from take full responsibility for the incident where policemen opened fire while dispersing the picketing farmers, killing two of the protesters and leaving many injured.
The farmers were demanding government subsidies including the 15,000 sacks of rice that Mendoza allegedly promised to them as relief.
The groups of farmers, however, should not have resorted to a demonstration that blocked vital stretches of national highways, she said.
"The local government units have already started initiating relief operations for drought-stricken communities before this happened. There was no need for them to gather in Kidapawan City for a rally. Well, maybe because many of them are not from the province," Mendoza said.
Mendoza said she was also surprised on why the farmers "showed force" in public instead of seeing her at the provincial capitol compound in Barangay Amas southwest of Kidapawan City.
"That is the seat of the provincial government and previous dialogues with different sectors from across the province were held there peacefully," Mendoza said.
Mendoza claimed that the groups rejected offers to address their demands peacefully on instigation of various blocs hostile to the government.
Mendoza said trucks were ready to transport the farmers back to their hometowns, where their respective local government units could attend to their needs, but none of them agreed to leave peacefully.
She said said there are procedures and protocols in dispersing relief supplies to farmers in drought-devastated areas, which include validation by their respective local government units of their identities and residency.
The dispersal on Friday of the farmers, whose permit to converge in Kidapawan City was valid only for Monday, resulted in the violent dispersal with policemen tasked to dismantle the roadblocks on highways crisscrossing the province.
Three farmers, Rotello Daelto, Victor Lumandang and Enrico Pabrica, were killed in the incident, which also left more than 116 others injured, among them 26 policemen.
Thousands of commuters and motorists were affected when the farmers set road blocks and barricaded portions of two national highways straddling North Cotabato.
Mendoza said groups from outside of North Cotabato, among them AnakPawis, Bayan Muna, League of Filipino Students, Gabriela and the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas came to join what was thought as only a gathering of drought-stricken farmers.
Local officials from drought-affected North Cotabato towns told The STAR that some constituents have told them that many of the farmers from the Arakan, Magpet, Makilala, Antipas and Tulunan municipalities were coerced by the New People's Army to join the pickets to attract the attention of the media.
Some farmers also barricaded at the entrance to the provincial office of the National Food Authority southwest of Kidapawan City, the capital of North Cotabato.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista earlier said Mendoza was to have a dialogue with the leaders of the farmers in his office at the city hall Wednesday night, but none of them came to talk to the governor.
